At the top of the homepage, you'llyou will see a summary of that league's specific set-up, including salary cap, sim speed and ratings format, as well as current date anddate, league status and the names of the league's commissioner(s) and/or mentor(s) when applicable, Here's a bit more on each of the items. applicable.

  • League Status - Displays the current year andDescribes whether the league is presentlycurrently in the pre-season, regular seasonseason, play-offs, or playoffs.offseason. This also displays what year the league is playing.

  • LeagueGame Day - ShowsWhat calendar day on the current game date forschedule the league. Date can range from the first day of the preseason on February 28th until the last day off the off-season on November 2nd. For a complete breakdown of the schedule, check out the Calendar.

  • League Salary Cap - All leagues have a salary cap that can range from $25 million to $75 million, with the majority of leagues falling between $50 million and $65 million. Most leagues operate with a "soft salary cap" in other words, certain team functions like trading and free agency are restricted, but you are not required to get under the cap. Some leagues operate with a "hard salary cap". In these leagues, ALL teams must be under the salary cap prior to opening day. Here's a full list of Leagues with Hard Salary Caps

  • Ratings Format - Nearly all leagues in CSFBL use numerical ratings. But there are other options. There are leagues that offer letter grade ratings instead...less precise data that some find to be more of a challenge. Examples of letter grade leagues are Spellcheck and Alphabet Soup. There are also Hybrid leagues which use numerical ratings for all players except for the incoming draftees in the annual amateur draft. An example of a hybrid league is the Hybrid Baseball Alliance

  • Pre-Season FAs - Leagues have a custom option to create anywhere from 0 to 24 new free agents every preseason. How many free agents are created in this league or whether this feature is disabled is displayed here.in.

  • Simulation Speed - This shows how many games are played per day. In other words, howHow quickly this league's calendar moves - 2, 4, or 8 games per day. An 8/day league plays a full season in a little over a month, 4/days take a little more than 2 months while 2/days complete a season in about 4 months.

  • League Type - Public, PrivatePublic or Mentor.Private. Private leagues require a password to join when formed. Mentor leagues are strongly recommended for all new users.

  • League Message
    A - This refers to a message from a league commissioner or a CSFBL admin.commissioner. Can be used to inform the league of dates, or eventsevents, or pointmatters tothey leaguefeel dataare posted on the forums.important. Allows you to enter a URL link.

Scroll down and you will find links to all 24 teams in the league and their owners, grouped by divisions and conferences. If a team in the league is available, you can recruit the team from here.
This shows the division breakdown of the league, the team names, and the individual (franchise) owning the team if the team is currently owned. All leagues currently have four divisions with each division consisting of six teams, for a total of 24 teams. Scroll Teams down a little on the league homepage and you'll find links to all 24 teams and all owners, grouped by their divisions and conferences. The team and ownerfranchise names listed are also links to that team and the owner'sand/or franchise. This is a quick way to have a look at the roster and lineups of the other teams in the league, and to see what other leagues your other owners are inleague.

Note that teams remain in the same division throughout the history of the league with a few exceptions such as Relegation League.

Seasonal History

Some leagues have played more than 100 seasons and all the information is detailed here.
